Skype Screen Sharing

How do I share my screen?

Screen sharing lets you share your computer screen with anyone on Skype for free.

For example, you can display presentations, show friends and family photos without having to send them, or show someone how something works on your PC.

To use screen sharing, you need:
Skype 4.2 and above (Windows), Skype 2.8 and above (Mac) or Skype 2.1 and above (Linux). For the best screen sharing experience, we recommend you use the latest version of Skype.

A minimum 1.6 GHz processor, 512 MB RAM and bandwidth of 512kb/s download and 256kb/sec upload.

To start sharing your screen:
Make a voice call or video call to the person that you want to share your screen with.
Click the “share” icon on the call toolbar at the bottom of the calling pane.

Choose whether to:
Show your current display - shows whatever you have on your screen.
Select window - allows you to choose which window you share. Bring up the window that you would like to share so it displays on your screen, make sure that it is highlighted in blue, then click Show selected window to start sharing.
When you want to stop sharing your screen, click Stop sharing.

You can switch presenters at any time and as often as you like and share screens across platforms (Windows, Mac and Linux). The person you are sharing your screen with can send you video at the same time, and you can also talk to each other, send instant messages and send files.

You can only share your screen with one other person. You cannot share your screen during a conference call or group video call, and only one person can share their screen at a time.
