Aloha to each of you interested in nutrition. Please feel free to take this list, copy this list, give it away, and put it on the refrigerator! Below you will find foods which are known to be especially good for “brains” and “vision”. Most students have several favorites on the list. Moms and Dads do too.
Asparagus Cherries Olives
Avocado Lemons Olive Oil
Beans Limes
Broccoli Oranges Eggs
Carrots Peaches Dairy
Collard Greens Strawberries
Kale Blueberries Tofu
Red Bell Pepper Whole Grain Bread Soy Beans
Spinach Pumpkin Seeds
Sweet Potatoes Sunflower Seeds Wild Pacific Salmon
Tomatoes Nut Butters Turkey
Yams Walnuts Chicken
Heart of Palm
Water Orange Juice Green Tea
Let’s feed our brains and eyes to help them keep doing the wonderful and amazing work they do for us every day. A good meal of protein and good carbs before class is must. Students will need a good snack before class and for their break and some orange juice too. This provides the brain with good energy, students use a lot of energy during class and they will usually be starving after class!
I would also like to pass on this tidbit, perhaps you already knew it and read labels carefully. Lotions and soaps which contain these toxic ingredients might be harmful to our children:
Laurel Sodium Sulfate (nitrate) and Propaline Glycol(antifreeze).
I want to applaud all the concerned and supportive parents who truly are committed to helping their children. It is wonderful to meet and work with you.
Kind Regards,
Floy Gregg
